Select the floppy that matches the band/mode you intend to use.
To operate on any band you MUST
have the floppy for that band. This prevents
two people from knowingly or unknowingly operating on the same
band at the same time which is a major rules violation and
duplicate contacts will not count. (Don't forget to put the
floppy back into the bin when you change bands/mode so it will
be available for someone else to use.)

Turn on the computer and allow it to boot up.

Insert floppy and load the DOS software.

At the "C:\WINDOWS>" prompt, type "cd..")

At the "C:" prompt type "a:"

At the "A;" prompt type "date" and the current date should be
display. If not, enter correct date.

At the "A:" prompt type "time" The current time should be
displayed. If not in UTC change the time to UTC.

At the "A:" prompt type "wr9r.exe"

You will be asked to provide a "Filename".
THIS IS IMPORTANT!!
Filenames have already been set up on the disk to store your log
information. The filenames are on the diskette label.
Use that name and that name only.
Filenames for phone operation are 80M SSB, 40M SSB, etc. Only
one diskette has been prepared for both digital and cw operation
for each band. Files for digital operation are 80M digital, 40M
digital, etc., for cw they are 80M CW, 40M CW, etc.

The computer will then display the call, address, etc. Hit the
escape to continue.

The computer will then display the power level to be used. Us
the up/down arrow to select "150 W or less" and hit enter.

The computer will then display the mode (cw, phone, digital).
Again use the up/down arrow to select your mode and press
enter. Be sure the mode you select agrees with the mode shown
on the diskette. Hit enter to proceed.

The computer will then display the band selection. Use the
up/down arrows to select you band, again, being sure that the
band selected agrees with the band on the diskette. Hit enter
to proceed.

The computer will then display com selections. This is of no
importance to us for phone and cw operation, so hit enter to
proceed. I don't know but it may be important for using PSK??

If you have selected the digital or cw mode, the computer will
ask for more info. Either provide the info or hit the escape
key.

You are now ready to log. Note the "F" function key commands at
the bottom of the screen. If you are running cw or digital,
press the "Alt" key to display more commands, particularly the
Alt F10 to close the file. REMEMBER TO
CLOSE THE FILE WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED TO SAVE THE LOG
INFORMATION!!
